Mountain Museum Bolzano
On Friday, September 22, 2006 I headed to the new Mountain Museum which is funded by the famous Helmut Messner, one of the few people in the world to have said they climbed Mt. Everest. Anyways, he is from Bolzano. The museum is housed in an old castle structure...a series of towers and other buildings. The museum celebrates the Mountain and also houses some of Messner's beautiful bronzes from Tibet. After the visit, we had lunch in there lovely restaurant. It made for a great little field trip! The bummer was going back to the office on a Friday afternoon after playing in a castle all morning!
